The Society of Bookbinders is a UK-based educational charity dedicated to the provision of education in the craft of traditional and contemporary bookbinding and related skills.
In 2023 the Society evolved and was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation which affords Limited liability for Trustees and members. Ultimate responsibility for the CIO rests with the Charity Trustees.

Members meet locally within the Regions which hold regular meetings, workshops, talks and demonstrations on various bookbinding or binding-related subjects and techniques plus social events, visits and exhibitions and represent the SoB at local book and craft fairs.
The long-standing provision of national events – biennial Seminar and Conference is currently under review and members’ views have been requested.
The Society’s flagship journal, BOOKBINDER, is published annually and generally distributed early in the following year and the National Newsletter is now published online three times each year.

Our Regions
The Society’s UK Regions do not have any set boundaries, so their catchment areas often overlap.
Members can belong to any (one) region but this does not have to be the region in which they live.
